Using the language of color, my paintings focus on light and its intrinsic meaning. Colors express my feelings during an exact moment when the light, enriching an otherwoise ordiary subject, caught my attention. I prefer the rich colors of early mornings or late afternoons, whrn the sun is low and shadows long. Each work starts on a red-hot canvas, the axis for impact dynamics. At close range subjects lose identity. Brushstrokes, denoting abstract color blocks, justapose bits of unpainted red ground, generating optical/psychological efffects. |
