Caroline begins on canvas pre-coated with gesso color specifically selected to contrast with the dominant colors in each painting's subject. This sets the stage for exciting visual interactions between paint colors. She utilizes the ground color as a barrier between paint applications, thus preventing any unwanted color mixing or muddying. Caroline defines important differences between real color vs. wheel color as a guide to appropriate color decision making while painting. With an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, Caroline Jasper's instruction stands on forty years of experience including high school Art Department Chair, exhibition juror, gallery and college lecturer.
